InMotion Cloud Hosting Review

Cloud hosting is growing in popularity as traditional hosting providers restructure their architecture for more powerful performance and scalability. Cloud Hosting is similar to VPS Hosting in its functionality, but achieves this in a different way. Rather than having a portion of a server with dedicated resources, your resources are spread across a number of different shared machines.

InMotion’s beginner package hosts up to two websites at one time and unlimited domains and subdomains per account. You are provided with more dedicated disk space and memory than any other cloud hosting service.

Features

  • InMotion Cloud hosting is Ideal for those with a high level of technical knowledge who can leverage the technologies a cloud system can offer
  • FREE SSD included and up to 8GB of RAM
  • FREE control panel and operating system
  • Optional root access and managed servers available
  • Unlimited MySQL databases and FTP accounts

Pros

  • InMotion offers to transfer your existing domain to its server with no downtime or data loss which is a big plus
  • You have the option of three different cloud hosting packages
  • Unmatched 60GB of disk space and 4GB of dedicated memory

Cons

  • Limits of InMotion Hosting’s plan include only being able to attach one IP address to your account and the fact that you do not have any access to a CPU core.

Conclusion

InMotion Hosting has been around for more than a decade and has carved out a nice niche for itself as a web host for small businesses. The company is based in the US, and you can choose to be connected to a server nearest you (there is one on each coast). For American websites looking to boast on local providers, it’s a nice bonus, but the uptick in site speech will be negligible. The biggest selling point for InMotion is that they have robust offerings that appeal to businesses.
